Spontan helps people connect in their neighbourhood. Profiles and status updates show who is open to contact, and chat lets users start a conversation without leaving the app.
The local marketplace provides space to post listings and browse nearby offers. The services section connects people looking for help with those offering it.
The app is available on Android and iOS. It combines social connections, listings and services around one shared context: what is close to the user.
Challenge
Connect profiles, conversations and local listings around the user's neighbourhood.
Solution
We connected the Flutter app to a Laravel API. Chat uses Laravel Reverb, notifications use Firebase Cloud Messaging, and background tasks use Redis queues.

Result
Users have profiles and status updates, conversations, a local marketplace and service offers in one place. They can move from exploring their neighbourhood to getting in touch through the built-in chat.
Technology and implementation
The mobile app was built with Flutter and Dart, using BLoC for state management. A Laravel backend provides the API, PostgreSQL stores data and Redis handles job queues. Laravel Reverb supports real-time chat. Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers push notifications, and Laravel Sanctum authenticates API requests.
